The Artists
207 East 1st Street Click photos to enlarge As an artist and educator, I gained invaluable hands-on knowledge and experience from 26 years of working with high school students in art and computer imaging. Now retired from classroom teaching, I focus creative energies on paper and canvas. I have always found inspiration in the visual richness that surrounds me in the hills of Missouri Wine Country. I work primarily in pencil, watercolor and oil, but never hesitate to grab my acrylics or combine media. Digital painting is yet another venue. My subjects include portrait, landscape, figure and still life, but I enjoy nonobjective art as well. My camera is always at the ready. I love photography and have amassed a large reference collection. My first really large oil is on display as you enter the Gasconade County Courthouse. Pencil drawings commissioned by First Bank for a calendar and greeting card received nationwide attention. My most recent work is “Gerald's View,” a 25-foot mural at Hemann Hill Village, overlooking the Missouri River. My work also is displayed in guest rooms at Hermann Hill Vineyard Inn.
